AI

Credits & fair use

How AI credits work on Pro, what each action costs, what happens when you run out, rate limits, and how bringing your own key or a local model avoids credits entirely.

On this page

The figures on this page come straight from config/plans.json, the file the product itself reads.

The monthly pool#

Pro includes 600 credits per month. Credits are a simple measure of AI work: an agent request, a generated image, a resized variant. The pool refills at the start of each period. The Free plan does not include AI; self-hosted installations have no credit pool at all.

See your balance, recent usage and history in Settings → Usage, or with the API at GET /credits.

Resize: each size producedworkflow.resizeVariant1
Localize: each language producedworkflow.localizeVariant1
Generate a video clipai.videoClip40

A few examples:

  • Asking the agent to restyle a slide: 1 credit (one agent turn), however many layers it changes.
  • Generating a full poster that needs two images: 5 + 2 × 3 = 11 credits.
  • Resizing one design into six formats: 6 credits.
  • Localizing a design into four languages: 4 credits.

Credits are reserved when a run starts and settled when it finishes, so a cancelled or failed run returns whatever it did not use.

When you run out#

There are no overage charges — you are never billed beyond your plan. When the monthly pool is used up, AI requests keep working under a soft throttle: each request waits a little before it starts (between 1.5 and 6 seconds). Your pool refills at the start of the next period.

Rate limits#

  • No overage charges. You are never billed for usage beyond your plan.
  • Soft throttle. When the monthly pool is used up, AI requests keep working but each waits 1.5–6 seconds before it starts.
  • Bring your own key bypasses credits. Requests that run on your own provider key or a local model never spend credits.
  • Rate caps. Up to 20 AI requests per minute and 600 per day per account.
  • Concurrency. Up to 3 agent runs or workflows at the same time.
  • Collaborators. Up to 25 people per design.

These limits keep the service fast for everyone. Hitting a per-minute or per-day cap returns a clear message with when you can continue; the API returns 429 with a Retry-After header.

Bring your own key#

Requests that run on your own provider key (BYOK) or on a local model never spend credits. Add a key for OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Mistral, Groq, Fal or Replicate in Settings → AI providers and choose it for any task. See providers & BYOK.

Fair use#

Pro is priced for one person's real design work. Patterns that look like abuse — bulk account creation, automated scraping, or reselling access — are detected and can lead to throttling or suspension. If your work genuinely needs more, bring your own key or self-host.
