Comments & collaboration
Edit together in real time with live cursors and selections, leave comments pinned to the canvas, mention teammates and share links.
Real-time collaboration and comments are part of Pro and the self-hosted edition. On Pro, up to 25 people can collaborate on a design.
Editing together#
Open the same design and you are working on it together. There is nothing to merge and no "someone else is editing" lock:
- Avatars in the top bar show who is here. Click one to jump to where they are working.
- Live cursors and selections show each person's pointer and what they have selected, in their color.
- Changes arrive as soon as someone finishes a gesture — a drag, a resize, a text edit — and appear for everyone at the same moment.
- When the agent is working on a design, everyone sees which layers it is editing ("AI is editing…") and its changes land live, as one undoable step.
When two people change the same thing#
Desyn resolves conflicts per property, in the order the server receives changes. If you change a layer's color while a teammate moves it, both changes apply. If you both change the same property, the later change wins. Structural conflicts — for example, one person deletes a frame while another edits its child — are resolved in server order, and the change that no longer applies is dropped. Your undo history only contains your own changes.
Cursors, selections and drag previews are ephemeral: they are shared live but never stored in the design or its history.
Comments#
Press C for the comment tool and click anywhere on a page — or on a specific layer — to start a thread. Comments pinned to a layer move with it.
- Mention teammates with
@nameto notify them. - Reply in the thread; resolve it when it is done. Resolved threads are hidden but kept, and can be reopened.
- Open all threads in the Comments panel (⇧ShiftC), filter by open or resolved, and jump to each one.
Workspace members with the commenter role, and visitors with a comment link, can comment without being able to edit.
Sharing#
Use Share in the top bar to invite workspace members or create a link with view, comment or edit permission, a password and an expiry date. See workspaces & members.
Working offline#
If your connection drops, keep working. Your changes are applied locally and sent in order when you reconnect; collaborators' changes that arrived in the meantime are applied first, then yours on top, so nobody's work is lost.
