Changelog
Notable changes to Desyn, the document model and the Agent API, newest first.

Desyn follows the release notes below. Self-hosters: read every entry between your version and the one you upgrade to, and follow any Action required notes. See upgrades.
2026-10-20 — Document model: doc unset and precise op semantics#
Additive change to the v1 contract: the doc operation accepts unset: ["brandKitId"], so detaching a brand kit can be expressed (and undone). The exact semantics of every operation — the fixed vocabulary of drop reasons and the order checks run in, move indexes counted after removal, normalized applied forms and inverse transaction ids — are now specified in spec/fixtures/README.md and enforced by the shared conformance fixtures. See operations.
2026-10-20 — Document model v1 frozen#
The document model contract reached version 1 (schema: 1). It defines designs, the nineteen node types, paint and effects, semantic roles, the eight operations, transactions, the sync protocol, the describe output and the render worker API. From now on the model changes only additively, with every change recorded here and in the contract's own change log.
2026-10-20 — Agent API v1 and documentation#
- The Agent API is versioned as
v1under/api/v1, with scoped API keys, stable error codes and an MCP server at/mcpexposing the agent's tools. - This documentation site launched at docs.desyn.app with guides for the editor, the AI, self-hosting and developers, and full-text search (⌘CtrlK).
Before 1.0#
Desyn is in active development ahead of its public launch at desyn.app. Until 1.0, entries summarize changes to the contracts other software depends on — the document model, the Agent API and the self-hosting configuration — rather than every feature.
