Templates
How Desyn templates work — real editable designs with slots, basic and premium templates, search by description and remixing with AI.
On this page
Templates are complete designs made by the Desyn team, stored in the same format as your own designs. When you use one, you get an ordinary design you can change in every detail; nothing is locked or flattened.
Finding templates#
Open Templates on the dashboard or the Design panel in the editor. The library covers more than twenty categories — social media, presentations, print, events, food, business, education and more — across every design kind.
Search works like describing what you want: "minimal bakery menu", "bold black and yellow event poster", "pitch deck for a climate startup". Filter by kind or category, and favorite templates to find them again.
Slots#
Important layers in a template are named slots: headline, subhead, photo, logo, price-1 and so on. Slots are what change from one use to the next. They are filled:
- by you, by editing the layer as usual;
- by the agent, when you ask it to adapt the template ("use this for an autumn menu with these five dishes");
- by the API, which can fill slots while instantiating a template.
Basic and premium#
Templates are marked basic or premium. Basic templates are available on every plan; premium templates need Pro or a self-hosted installation.
Remix with AI#
Remix with AI on any template starts the agent with the template as a starting point and your brief as the goal. It keeps the template's structure and quality but rewrites the copy, swaps imagery and applies your brand kit if you choose one. Remixing uses credits like any agent request; see credits.
Apply a template to an existing design#
From the Design panel, apply a template to the current page. Desyn maps your existing content (by role and slot) into the template's layout, so you get a new look without retyping. The agent can do the same with "apply the 'Warm bakery menu' template to this page".
